Moses Weir
Jr.
Jul 25, 1934 — Jul 2, 2023
Moses Weir Jr., 88, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, peacefully transitioned on Sunday, July 2, 2023. He was born on July 25, 1937, to Moses Weir Sr. and Elizabeth Birmingham. Moses was a beloved son, brother, father, and friend, and his absence will be deeply felt by those whose lives he touched.
Moses was preceded in death by his parents, Moses Weir Sr. and Elizabeth Birmingham, as well as his siblings: Annie Mae Talbert, Lois Erby, Faye Willis, and Ruthie Mae Kendrix. While they have passed on, their memories will forever be treasured.
Throughout his life, Moses engaged in various odd jobs, but the one that held a special place in his heart was his work at the Salvation Army. His love for people was evident in his ability to strike up conversations with anyone he encountered. He never met a stranger and had a collection of sayings, one of which was a favorite: "The same thing that makes you laugh will make you cry." This sentiment captured his profound understanding of life's joys and sorrows.
Moses will be lovingly remembered by his son, Gary Carter, and his sister, Elizabeth Paterson of Fort Worth. He shared a deep bond with Charlotte Anderson of Hot Springs, who held a special place in his heart. Additionally, Moses was blessed with a dear friend who affectionately called him "Daddy Pat." He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews whose lives were enriched by his presence.
As per Moses' wishes, no services will be held to commemorate his life. Instead, we invite you to share your condolences and memories of Moses on the guest registry at http://www.carriganmemorial.com.
Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for his final journey. May the memories we shared with Moses bring us solace, and may his legacy of love and kindness forever inspire us. He will remain in our hearts, a beacon of warmth and compassion.
