Obituary

Nancy Lee Thompson Dedmon after living 76 blessed years, 2 months and 14 days, answered the voice of God on Thursday, April 11, 2019.  Her journey began on Thursday, January 28, 1943 in Murfreesboro, AR when she was born the daughter of McKinley and Pauline Willis Thompson.  They completed their journey before her as well as her husband, M.T. Dedmon; daughter-in-love, Jacqueline "Jackie" Thompson; siblings, L.J., A.D., Tellious, Odell, Charlie, Shirley, Avant, Fred Thompson, and Ruby Johnson.

Nancy was a graduate and salutatorian as well as assistant secretary of the Historic Langston High School Class of 1961. She always worked diligently with the school reunions, helping with the Show & Tell display room and most recently with registration. She was a longtime member of the Entre Nous Social Club and was the financial secretary and, purchaser.  Nancy was also a longtime member of Nazarene Baptist Church where she exhibited her faith by servicing as a deaconess, church clerk, choir, Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, hospitality ministry, women's ministry and, the pastor's aide ministry.  She served in the Southwest District Section 3 Women's Department Secretary.

Nancy was a caring, devoted and, loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to many.  She loved to cook and watch others eat. Her smiled will be missed as well as her kind and gentle spirit.

She left a lasting impression in the heart of her sons, Frank (Vanessa) Thompson, Gregory (Claira) Thompson of Hot Springs, and Brian Thompson of Poplar Bluff, MO; one brother, Tyree Thompson of Richmond, CA; her bonus and extended children, Kathryn (James) Bruton Vancouver, WA, Marilyn Hughes Tacoma, WA, Charlotte (John) Primm, Malvern, Lorrie Harrison of McKinley, TX, Vance Dedmon of Portland, OR and Ronald Davis of Hot Springs; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her in-laws, Adul (Helen) Hasan, Euvell Dedmon, Elouise Payne, Margie Bartlett, and Eltesa (Gary) Langston; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Funeral service will be 12:00 noon, Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Nazarene Baptist Church.  Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery.  Visitation will be Friday, from 5:00 -6:30 PM at the funeral home.
