Princess "Kay" Durham, 67, of Little Rock, Arkansas, gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Baptist Hospital in Little Rock after a long illness. She was born on September 13, 1957, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Buster and Nellie Cottrell Mooney.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers-in-law, Jesse Durham and Jesse Cooper.
On February 11, 1975, Kay married her soulmate, Claiborne "Clay" Durham, and together they built a beautiful life in Little Rock, Arkansas. Their union was blessed with one son, Clayborn Christopher Durham, who became the joy of Kay's heart.
Family was of the utmost importance to Kay, and she cherished every moment spent with her husband, son, and grandchildren. Her grandchildren were truly the center of her universe. Kay found happiness in shopping, watching football with her husband, spending time with loved ones, and enjoying the loyal companionship of her beloved dog, Zoey.
Kay was a faithful member of Roanoke Baptist Church in Hot Springs. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held there at a later date.
She leaves to cherish her memory: her devoted husband of Married 50 years, Claiborne "Clay" Durham of the home; her son, Clayborn C. Durham, and daughter-in-law, Sarah Durham; grandsons Christopher and Carter Durham, all of Plano, Texas; granddaughter Mikayla Durham of Brooklyn, New York; Stefan Whelchel of California; sisters-in-law Arlene Wilson (Myles) of Memphis, Tennessee, Rosa Jackson (Andre) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Linda Cooper of West Memphis, Arkansas; brothers-in-law Kenneth Durham (Curly) of Emporia, Virginia, and Morgan Durham of Merrillville, Indiana; nieces Camille Thomas of Crowley, Texas, Courtney Harris (Terrance) of Memphis, Tennessee, Sunnye Durham of Washington, D.C., Ryan Durham of South Bend, Indiana, and Morgan Erica Durham of Stevensville, Michigan; nephews AJ Jackson (Courtney) of North Little Rock, Arkansas, Myles Keath Wilson (Chloe) of Memphis, Tennessee, Jarrod Cooper of Dallas, Texas, and Nicholas Thomas of Hot Springs, Arkansas; lifelong best friends Marva Huff and Lois Bryant; along with a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
The memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at Roanoke Baptist Church, 236 Whittington Ave
Hot Springs, AR 71901. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kay's name to the building fund at Roanoke Baptist Church.
