Obituary

Raymond Ed Johnson, 82, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, peacefully entered eternal rest on December 1, 2025, after a lifetime marked by quiet strength, unwavering faith, and love for family. Raymond was born on September 2, 1943, in Alexander, AR. Raymond was the fifth child of six born to Robert Johnson Sr. and Beaulah Hunter Johnson Wesson.

Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Frances Davis Johnson; his three brothers, Larry Johnson, Robert Johnson Jr., and Cal Johnson; and his two sisters, Eliza Mae Johnson-Jordan and Annie L. Johnson-Guinn.

Raymond was a proud 1962 graduate of the Historic Langston High School. Raymond carried the values of discipline, kindness, and commitment into every chapter of his life. He treasured his school community and never missed a class reunion, always enjoying the fellowship and memories shared with classmates.

Shortly after graduating, he moved to Los Angeles, California, where he built a meaningful career and life for more than three decades. He served 28 years with the Los Angeles Superior Court Services in General Maintenance. He found success as a Real Estate Broker and General Contractor, helping families achieve the dream of homeownership and long-term stability both in California and Arkansas. Empowering others, especially through real estate, was one of his greatest honors.

While living in California, Raymond met the love of his life, Frances Ann Davis of Los Angeles, California. They were married for 26 years, until her passing in 1991. To their union, three children were born.

In 1994, Raymond returned home to Hot Springs, where he continued living a life of simplicity, peace, and faith. A man who enjoyed the comfort of home, he loved watching Westerns, tuning into MSNBC, and spending time in quiet reflection. To know Raymond was to know how much he cared about his hair and personal style. He was a man who rarely raised his voice, but if he did, his famous phrase was sure to follow: "That Sucka!" His humor, even in serious moments, brought smiles to those around him.

Raymond was a man grounded firmly in the Catholic faith, living with quiet devotion, stability, and humility. Though soft-spoken, his presence was steady, dependable, and deeply felt by those who loved him.

Raymond's life was a testament to dignity, loyalty, and the power of a good heart. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by his children, Dewayne Johnson, Regina Johnson, and Derek Johnson; his three grandchildren, Jordan Johnson, Mariah Johnson, and Jalen Johnson; and one great-grandson. A special nephew, Snoop (Anthony), held a unique place in Raymond's heart; the two shared a close bond, often described as partners in crime, and spoke every day, a connection that brought Raymond joy and laughter. He also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him dearly. His legacy was built on honesty, faith, and a sincere desire to help others succeed.
