Robert Lee "R.L." Garrett, Jr. age 84 of Hot Springs, passed away at his home, Saturday, June 24, 2017. He was born November 1, 1932 to Robert Lee and Lillie Kay Garner Garrett, Sr. They preceded her in death as well as his sister, Roberta Neighbors; son Derek Hulsey; grandson, Jessie Garrett and father-in-law, Floyd Hulsey.

R.L. attended Millcreek Baptist Church and was a former truck driver having retired from Yellow Freight Trucking Company. He loved to spend time with his family, camping, fishing and hunting. He a member ot the Mountain Valley String Band. They recorded an album "First Ride" in 1982.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Garrett and their son, Robbie Garrett; his sons, Gary (Tammy) Garrett, "Bo" (Karen) Garrett, and Doug Garrett; one daughter, "Sis" (Dennis) Ward; ten grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; and his dog, Shakey Girl; and a host of extended family and frineds.

Graveside service will be Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 10:00 AM at Smith Creek Cemetery off Hwy 128 with Brother Teddy Hill officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the funeral home.
