Roosevelt Davis, Sr. in his 57th season of life passed away suddenly, Sunday, June 25, 2017 at his home. On October 8, 1959 in Turrell, AR he was blessed to become the son of Earnest and Minnie Smith, Sr. They preceded him in death as well as his brothers, Earnest Smith, Jr. and James Smith. Mike as he was known to family and friends attended the Turrell School System. He was a 1978 graduate of Turrell High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. He was a former employee of Tyson Foods, Inc and International Paper Company, (IP) in Gurdon, AR. He was currently employed with the Valro Store in Hope, AR. Mike loved life and he enjoyed and lived his life to the fullest.
He will be sadly missed by his two sons, Roosevelt Davis, Jr. and Michael Metcalf; one granddaughter, Aleeyah Robinson; three brothers, Rev. Freddie Smith (Linda), Eddie Smith and Terry Smith (Tamiko); six sisters Earnestine Davis, Bobbie Owensby (Arvern), Dorothy Richmond, Bettie Smith-Holmes, Jackie Smith-Mallard(Garry) and  Ruby Smith. a special friend and god son, Carolyn Porter and her son, DaJuan Ingram.
He also leaves extended brothers and sisters, Essie Hill (Lee), Bettye Smith, Linda Smith, Patricia Daniel (Willie), A. J. Smith, Don Reed, James Earl Smith, Vanessa Gillcum, Charles Smith, Stanley Smith, Brenda Smith, Mary Smith Nance.; one uncle, Jimmy Brown, one aunt, Vera Collins, and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Friday, June 30, 2017 at Rising Star Baptist Church 1002 East Beech Street, Hope, AR with Rev. Alvin Hunter, officiating and Rev. Freddie Smith delivering the eulogy. Burial will follow in DeAnn Cemetery, Prescott, AR.
