Ruby Thompson Johnson in her 84th season of life went to sleep peacefully in the arms of the Lord on Monday, July 10, 2017. She was born November 26, 1932 to Tellious McKinley and Pauline Willis Thompson. They completely their journey before her well as her siblings, L.J., A.D., Tellious, Odell, Charlie, Shirley, Avant and Fred Thompson.
She was a faithful member of Nazarene Baptist Church having served as a church mother, deaconess, choir member, Sunday School Department, Food Ministry and wherever her services where needed. Ruby loved people, cooking, fishing and making crafts. Ruby loved to prepare meals for her family and friends. She was a people person and never met a stranger.
Her legacy will forever be remembered by her children, Ronald (Lillian) Kerr of Lewisville, TX, Sandra Thompson of Hot Springs, AR and Darrel (Yvetta) Johnson of Clarksville, TN; one sister, Nancy Dedmon of Hot Springs; one brother, Tyree Thompson of Richmond, CA; seven grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Nazarene Baptist Church 220 Silver Street with Pastor James F. Lambert, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Crestview Cemetery. Open visitation will be Friday, July 14, 2017 at the funeral home from 1:00 – 5:00 PM.
