"One thing for certain, two things for sure." "I don't chew my cabbage twice." These are the words spoken by a wise old soul who had lived well beyond his thirty-four years. Ryan Alex Christopher Perry said what he meant, he meant what he said, and all was right with the world. Because he lived, he made an impact of God's grace, humor, understanding, simplicity, value, humility, respect, family, friendship, nature, but of all Love. Which is the core of our sheer existence we should leave with those we meet along life's journey.

Ryan was born May 3, 1987, to Rosie Perry and Alex Sylvester in Hot Springs, AR. He was raised by his PawPaw, Luther Perry, and his mom Rosie, her sweet baby boy, her good kid along with uncles and cousins who were more like his brothers and sisters. Some might say that Ryan's "old ways" were attributed to being around and learning from his PawPaw.  He accepted Jesus Christ as His Personal Savior and was baptized at Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church. Those life lessons were valuable and worthwhile as Ryan grew into the man he would become.

Educated in the Hot Springs school system participating in academics and extracurricular activities, at the age of 16 years old Ryan was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes. This diagnosis did not derail him from doing anything that he wanted to do.  In fact, he obtained his first job at Back Yard Burgers where he began his love for working. Ryan is a proud 2005 graduate of Hot Springs High School.

Work and Cars go hand in hand. Because of his love for cars, he needed to work. He bought old cars so he could repair them. Friends were needed to help with these ventures. Lifelong friends. Friends that he guided, encouraged to do the right thing, not following the crowd, making your own way, working, having fun. And if he was not working or with family, he could be found cultivating the soil. Toiling over some tomato plants, peppers, or cucumbers. Gardening and Farming getting back to nature. Despite how he might have felt on occasions, Ryan loved food and thought of himself as a Cook. He would try almost anything at least once. Cow tongue for example and his go-to condiment was Mayo, and he had to have some kind of Pepper (Jalapeño, Habanero) on the side of whatever dish he was eating. And when he cooked you never knew what concoction of species, he had put together to make the dish. His answer was "Surprise." Just like he tried everything to eat, he felt that way about Food Trucks and Soul Food Restaurants. However, he had a favorite, and that was Meatloaf.

Ryan had two loves in life, one named Momma and the other named Bob. Each loved him differently, yet he loved and depend on them both. December 7, 2019, Ryan described this day as the "Best day of my life." It was the day he received his new kidney. No more dialysis, no more machines, freedom, newfound freedom. During this time Bob, Ja'Leana, Le'Lani, and Ryan could live as they had never lived before. Family vacations, holidays, birthday's all the celebrations that were most dear to their family could be celebrated. And oh, how Ryan loved his girls. And there was nothing he would not do to provide for them. There was never a person that was turned down for help by Ryan Perry. After a short aggressive illness, he transitioned peacefully on Monday, February 21, 2022, with his family at his side. Within a span of his short amazing years on this earth, this extraordinary man found a way to leave an indelible mark on the life of every person he touched. He had that same amazing smile and attitude every time you saw him, and you didn't have to guess which Ryan you were going to get.

Ryan is preceded by his maternal grandparents, Luther and Lourine Perry; paternal grandparents William and Ida Sylvester; uncles, James & Robert Perry.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are, his mother Rosie Perry of Hot Springs, AR; his father, Alex Sylvester of Fort Smith, AR; Fiancé, Bobbie Washington and the Girls, Ja'Leana Woodfork and Le'Lani Woodfork of Hot Springs, AR; sisters, Teresa (Michael) Hawthorne of Hot Springs, AR and Alexandria Clifton of Sallisaw, OK; aunts, Betty Perry of Country Club Hill, IL, Wendy Arnold, Margie Arnold and Special Great-Aunt Carey Hudson all of Hot Springs, AR, Patricia Sylvester of Marvell, AR;  uncle, Lucius Perry of Hot Springs, AR, other aunts, and uncles; nieces and nephews; as well as a host of cousins including  Jazzel and Robert Perry who grew up in the home with Ryan. Special friends who are like family and the Washington and McGraw Families.
