Obituary

Thelma Lee Mack Paige, 99 of Hot Springs AR/El Dorado, AR, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022, in Hot Springs, AR, at Lakewood Convalescent Home. Before moving to Lakewood, Ms. Liz Hatter was an excellent caregiver for her.

Thelma was born In Bernice, Louisiana on May 8, 1923, to Willie George and Pearl Emma Honeycutt Mack.

She received her educated from the Countyline School District, in Spearsville, Louisiana. Thelma was a loving and dedicated mother to her children and grandchildren.  She was a Block Captain in Orange County and she hosted Bible Study Classes in her home. In 1969 she decided to move out west to Santa Ana, CA, where she lived for 27 years. While in Santa Ana, she became a member of Starlight Baptist Church, with Pastor Johnson.

Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Rockerfeller Paige; daughter, Jewel Newton; sons, Joy Lee Newton, LaWade Newton, and Tony Smith; three brothers, Willie Mack, Jr., Eddie Mack, and Reverend Allen Mack; four sisters, Lottie Mack Clark, Mattie Mack, Topsie Terry, and Shirley Rodgers.

She leaves to cherish her memories four daughters, Violet Arnold, St. Paul, MN; Emmie Lee Newton, Milford, OH; Vicky Smith, Los Angeles, CA; Edith Donell (Tony) Scoggins, Hot Springs, AR; one loving daughter-in-love, Jessie Traylor Newton, Dallas, TX; three sons, Harvey Chester Newton, Los Angeles, CA; Ricky Smith, Los Angeles, CA; and Billy Ray Junior, El Dorado, AR. Thelma has thirty-one grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, & five great-great-grandchildren. Host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
