Rev. Tommie Lee Howard 76, Hot Springs, AR departed this life on Friday, June 16, 2023. He was born on December 9, 1946, to the union of Tom Howard and Lacille Sutton in El Dorado, AR.
Tommie was predeceased by his Parents, wife, Wilberdine C. Howard and bonus daughter Jacqueline "Baby Jack" Ferguson.
Tommie graduated from Langston High "Home of the Bulldogs" where he played Football. He was a proud member of the United States Army where he was at Fort Sill, OK, and Camp Casey in Korea. After leaving service he moved to Hot Springs where he was ordained as a Minister at the Union Missionary Baptist Church. He was called to Pastor the St. Mark Baptist Church from 1988 to 1997. The church continued to grow both physically and spiritually. He was called to Pastor The Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church for a number of years. He worked as a welder at Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center for more than 27 years until his retirement. Spending time with his family and seeing their accomplishments was the highlight of his life.
He is survived by his beloved family; Son, Tommie L. Howard (Wendy) Jr of Wisconsin; James Banks (Tashiba) Bryant, AR; Daughter Amanda Ferguson (Raymond) NLR; Brothers Jimmy Howell, Bobby Howell, and Jerry Howell all of Hot Springs; Robert Howell of Kansas City, KLS; Sisters - Mary Lawson (Rickey); Emma Howell all of Hot Springs; 22 grandchildren; 6 (soon to be seven) great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews cousins and friends.
Today is full of memories of a Father, Grandfather, and Brother, laid to rest, and every single one of them with happiness
The visitation will be Saturday, June 24, 2023, at 10:00 am. The Funeral will follow at 11:00 am at Roanoke Baptist Church 236 Whittington Ave. Hot Springs, AR 71901
