Virginia Raye Hill-Lewis, 82, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed on Thursday May 28, 2020, in her home surrounded by family and friends. She was born February 10, 1938, in Ansley, Louisiana, to two loving and caring parents, Charlie and Delsie Hill. They preceded her in death as well as her son, Ricky Hill; one sister, Celestine McCrainey; four brothers, Charlie Hill Jr, James Hill, Clyde Hill, and Carl Hill; her sister/best friend, Linda Crutchfield.
Virginia attended the Historic Langston High School. After high school she began working for Central Junior High School where she was loved by many. This would become her career job until her retirement. After her retirement she was able to spend more time with her children and grandchildren. She loved sports and roses.
Left to hold dear and keep her memories alive is her sister, Delores Dooley; her brother, Booker T. Crutchfield; two sons, Barron (Angela) Hill and Ronnie Lewis; two daughters, Denine Hill and Cherise Rambo, eleven grandchildren, Allen Jones, Shermeka Winston, Melissa Clayton, Kionti Traylor, Virginia Smith, Xavier (Jessica) Carr, Sherrell Carr, Tempestt Snell, Laterra Ganaway, Shakela Shaw, and Brandon Griffin; nine great-grandchildren, Te'asuja Winston, Jeffrey Hall, III, Jazten Hall, Collin Atkins, Patience Hopkins, Justice Simmons, Eva Stevenson, Jayce Traylor, and Erielle Mitchell. She also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and a host of friends. She also had two very special men that helped her out tremendously, David Johnson, and Adrian Roberson.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 pm, Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Whittington Park, 374 Whittington Ave.
