Wanda June
Thomas
Jul 20, 1939 — Jan 15, 2026
Wanda Thomas, 86, of Mountain Pine, Arkansas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 15, 2026. A woman of deep and abiding faith, Wanda's life was a testament to her love for God and her family. She was born in California on July 20, 1939, to Ezra Cole and Stella Waller.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband, William Thomas; her son, Johnny Thomas; her stepmother, Violet Cole; her sister, Lillian Stephens; and her great-grandson, Alfredo Ramirez.
Wanda's greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was the glue that held everyone together; she was happiest when her home was full of noise, laughter, and the people she loved. Whether they were gathered around the table for one of her favorite board games or sitting together sharing stories, Wanda cherished every moment.
She was a woman of high standards and even higher expectations. A true "straight-talker," Wanda never saw a reason to sugarcoat the truth; she wasn't afraid to give you her opinion, and you always knew exactly where you stood with her. Her family will fondly remember her honesty and the fact that her love was as tough as it was tender. Though she enjoyed the peace of camping and the beauty of the outdoors, it was the company she kept while there that mattered most to her.
Wanda is survived by her devoted daughter, Justine Hermanson; her siblings; and her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. To five generations, she was a source of unconditional love, a prayer warrior, and a constant presence in their lives. Her legacy lives on in the family traditions she started and the faith she instilled in those she leaves behind.
The family wishes to extend their deepest heartfelt thanks to Dakota and Shanice from Geneva Hospice. They did more than provide care; they treated Wanda with the utmost dignity, compassion, and a level of love that became a source of great comfort to the family. We also want to express our sincere gratitude to the entire staff at Gentiva Hospice for the kindness and professional support shown to Wanda and our family during this journey.
Furthermore, we would like to acknowledge Ebony, her pickup team, and Meiaca at Carrigan Memorial. Her unwavering support and genuine kindness guided us through this difficult time, ensuring that Wanda was honored with the respect and dignity she deserved. We are forever grateful for the love and dedication these individuals showed our beloved Wanda.
