Obituary

William Dean Hicks, SR., 63, of Hot Springs, passed away on October 15, 2020 in Hot Springs at NPMC's  IC Unit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Leon Hicks and Roberta Penny Hicks; three brothers, Lenard Tatum, Arthur Mitchell and Ralph Hicks; two sisters, Dorothy Mitchell and Louise Hicks.

William was born in Hot Springs to George Hicks and Roberta Penny on April 10, 1957.  He graduated from Hot Springs High School where he played football and ran track.  He previously worked at Louisianan Downs in Kentucky for well over 30 years. He was a member of the Greater St. Paul Missionary Church where in sang in the Church choir.

William is survived by a son, William Hicks, JR.,; five brothers, Lee Davis Gill (Wilma) of Arkadelphia; Lenon Hicks, Roosevelt Hicks, Joe Nathan Hicks, and Ronald Hicks all of Hot Springs, and Joe Luther Mitchell of Portland, Oregon; one half-brother, Lee Hicks (Jackie) of Rockford, IL.; one sister Eloise Hicks Taylor of Detroit, Michigan; One grandchild Ta'Vyun Lewis and a Great Grandchild, Tre'vyun Lewis; a host of nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 11:00 Saturday, October 24 th at Carrigan Memorial Funeral Services. Burial will be 12:30 Saturday, October 24 th at Friendship Cemetery with Kenneth Gulley, Pastor of Greater St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church officiating.

William always kept a smile on his face!  He knew how to make you laugh and loved to dance.
