Obituary

Wilsonlene (Wiz) Weathers, 60, of Hot Springs, AR, transitioned on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born on August 3, 1963, in St. Louis, MO, to Wilson Livingston and Everlee Jones. Wiz, was the youngest of 14 on her mother's side and the second oldest on her father's side.

Wiz departed this life to reunite with her beloved parents, her sisters, and brothers.

She later moved to Hot Springs, Arkansas, in 1986 seeking a fresh start and to be closer to her mother. Wiz was a woman of intelligence and faith, devoted to the Lord. In her youth, she excelled in gymnastics and pursued a career in CNA work, displaying her passion for caregiving. Her love for hairstyling, skating, writing, and embracing vibrant colors defined her zest for life.

Wiz was a cherished member of multiple churches, finding solace in music, particularly Earth, Wind & Fire's "Reasons." She was known for her strength and coined the phrase "together we stand, and divided we fall," imparting wisdom to her children. Her heart knew love twice - her high school sweetheart, Philip Mangrum, and later, the late Elinger Dobson. Janice and the late Deborah held cherished places as her best friends, resting peacefully alongside her now.

She is survived by her four sisters, one brother, and four children - Phillis, Stacey, Stanley, and Henry - along with 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A proud Leo, she identified with the regal lion, finding significance in the colors green and olive, much like her birthstone. Her love for TV centered on "The Wizard of Oz" and music icon Michael Jackson, while her culinary joy lay in savoring chicken dishes.

Throughout her life, Wiz embodied the serenity prayer, learning its wisdom during her time in treatment. "God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference."

Wiz's favorite poem, "Footprints," resonated deeply, reflecting her enduring faith and belief in guidance during life's trials.

In remembrance of Wiz, donations can be made directly to Carrigan Memorial Funeral Service through various means.

The Memorial Service to celebrate her life will be held on December 2, 2023, at 4:00 pm at The Potter Ministers, 712 Leonard St. Hot Springs, AR 71913.
