Winder
Curry Jr.
Dec 3, 1955 — Sep 3, 2026
Hot Springs Arkansas
A life of love, hard work, family, and treasured memories began.
Winder Curry Jr., 70, of Hot Springs, AR, transitioned on Thursday, September 3, 2026, at CHI St. Vincent in Hot Springs, AR. He was born on December 3, 1955, in Nachitoches, LA, to Winder Curry, Sr., and Maple Lacour Curry.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Willie Curry; sister, Betty Curry Roberson; son, Wayne Hick; and wife, Peggy Walker; sons-in-law, Marlon Grant and Billy Tutton Jr.; and granddaughters, Ava Moore and Skyla Hick.
He attended St. Matthew School in Melrose and later built a life characterized by dedication to his family, his work, and the things that brought him joy.
Throughout his career, he earned a strong reputation for hard work and commitment. He worked at Offshore as a cook for about ten years, then at Captain D's for four years. He eventually joined the City of Hot Springs Sanitation Department, where he faithfully served the community for 28 years.
Outside of work, he truly enjoyed life. Fishing was one of his favorite pastimes, and he loved spending time outdoors. He also enjoyed camping with friends and was a devoted Dallas Cowboys fan. His greatest joy, however, came from spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also had a special love for his dogs.
Although he made his home in Hot Springs, Arkansas, he never forgot where he came from and always enjoyed traveling back home to visit and spend time with family. Family remained an important part of his life, and the memories created with those he loved will continue to be cherished for generations to come.
Winder leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Georgia Moore; his children, Chezay Moore (Charwan), Sharlene Grant, Jessie Walker, Tinnell Curry, Windsor Curry Jr., Leslie Hale, Ava Moore, Sophia Moore, and Terrence (Brenda) Moore; sisters, Frances (Norman) Murphy, Katie (Bill) Scott, Orella (Mark) Perry, Linda (John) Brooks, and Cora (Bobby) Jackson; 32 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren; along with a host of additional relatives, friends, and loved ones who will forever cherish his memory.
His legacy will live on through the family he loved, the many years he devoted to serving his community, and the countless memories shared with those fortunate enough to know him. His love of family, fishing, the outdoors, and simply enjoying life will remain a lasting reminder of a life well lived.
May his memory continue to bring comfort, laughter, and love to all who knew him.
A celebration of life will be held on September 19, 2026, at noon at 139 Sky Canyon Trail, Hot Springs, AR.
